DEFINITION AND FUNCTIONS OF FILTER DRIER

The function of the Filter Drier is to provide filtration for protection of efficiency and condition of the refrigeration systems.

The most basic task of a Filter Drier is to remove moisture from system and to prevent and clean acidic formation. Using the special moisture and acid removal agents, the moisture and acid is taken from the system providing protection. The contaminations caused by, during installation, welding, worn units’ (compressor, pipe etc.) particles and any harmful and/or abrasive impurities, are also filtered.

The best of the benefits of using the Filter Drier is to lower the risk of system failure and increase the lifespan of the system.

Molecular Sieve differs from other adsorbents. The first two graphics below show the comparisons and basic properties of Molecular Sieve and the last graphic shows the properties of Activated Alumina. The first graphic illustrates the water adsorption of Molecular Sieve comparing to other adsorbents at the same temperature and low relative humidity. The second graphic shows the decrease in their adsorption capacity is significantly smaller than the others with the raising temperature. The third graphic illustrates the Activated Alumina’s acid removal capacity against Molecular Sieve.
